C S Dhawal & Co is located at 25 Marshall House on Strand Road, right in the heart of the Calcutta GPO area. If you have ever walked down Strand Road, you know how packed it gets with people, taxis, and carts. Marshall House is one of those old, sturdy buildings that has seen a lot of history. Our office is inside, and it still has that old-school feel with high ceilings and heavy doors. We have been here for many years, and the atmosphere of the city really seeps into the walls. The fans hum overhead while we go through our files and handle the daily business. Being near the GPO means there is always a sense of urgency outside, but inside we try to keep things steady. We are not a big corporation with glass walls; we are more of a traditional firm where things are done the old-fashioned way. We know the other tenants in the building and the guys selling tea on the corner. Sometimes the lifts in these old buildings are a bit slow, so we take the stairs. It is a lot of paperwork and phone calls throughout the day. We do not have a mission statement or anything like that. We just come into the office, do the work for our clients, and navigate the busy streets of Calcutta to get back home every evening. It is a busy life.
