You can find Bysha International Private Limited at P 595 Hemant Mukhopadhaya Sarani, which is just off Purna Das Road in Kolkata. It’s a lively part of the city with lots of small shops and places to eat. Our office is tucked away in a building that has seen better days, but it’s home to us. We handle international trade, which basically means we spend our time trying to figure out shipping schedules and customs rules. It isn't as glamorous as it sounds. It involves a lot of waiting for people in other countries to wake up and reply to emails. We are a small team and we don't have a fancy reception or anyone to answer the phones with a scripted greeting. We just pick up and talk. We don't have a big mission statement or anything like that. We just want to make sure the goods we are responsible for get delivered without too many problems. Sometimes the ships are late or the weather at sea is bad, and we have to explain that to our clients. We try to be honest about it. Most of our days are spent checking manifests and drinking tea from the shop downstairs. We’ve been in this area for a while and we like the rhythm of it. It’s just a normal business run by normal people.
