Budge Budge Gift House

We are tucked away in the Gupta Complex on Dharmatala Road, specifically in Room 20 on the ground floor. If you’re in Budge Budge, you probably know the area. It’s a bit of a walk from the main entrance, but once you find us, there’s plenty to look at. We started this gift house because we liked the idea of having a place where you could find something small for a birthday or a wedding without having to travel into the bigger city centers. The shelves are packed with all kinds of things—photo frames, little statues, toys, and cards. It gets a bit cluttered during the festival seasons because we try to cram in as much stock as possible. Sometimes it’s hard to move around the aisles without bumping into a display. We’re just a small family run operation, really. My sister does most of the gift wrapping, and she’s much better at it than I am. We’ve seen kids grow up coming in here to spend their pocket money on little trinkets. It’s a quiet life for the most part, though things get frantic around the holidays. We don’t have a big staff, just us and occasionally a neighbor who helps out when things get too busy. We just like being part of the community and having a shop that people feel comfortable stepping into. Sometimes we stay open a little late if someone is in a rush for a gift, but mostly we stick to our regular hours.
