Budge Budge Company Ltd. is located on the 9th floor of 16A, Brabourne Road. It’s quite a climb if the lift isn’t working, which happens more often than we’d like. Being up on the 9th floor gives us a bit of a view of the surrounding buildings, but mostly we just see rooftops and water tanks. The office is pretty standard. We have rows of desks, some old filing cabinets that don’t always close right, and a lot of paperwork. Brabourne Road is a central spot, so it’s easy for people to get to us, but the traffic can be a nightmare. We’ve been in this building for a long time. The floors are a bit scuffed and the lighting is that typical office yellow, but it’s where we do our daily work. We don’t have any fancy break rooms. We just eat our lunch at our desks or go downstairs to one of the stalls on the street. It’s a very routine kind of life here. We start early and stay until the work is finished. There’s always someone complaining about the air conditioning being too cold or too warm. It’s just a group of people trying to get through the daily tasks without too much fuss. We don’t try to be anything we’re not. It’s just an office where we get through the spreadsheets and the phone calls.
