Bhavani Maa

Our shop, Bhavani Maa, is located inside Treasure Island, right near where the old Globe Cinema is. It is a busy part of the city, and there is always something happening outside. We spend a lot of our time just making sure everything on the shelves is where it should be. Being near the cinema means we see all sorts of people walking by at all hours. Treasure Island is a bit of a landmark for folks around here, so it makes it easy for people to find us. We don't have a giant team of people working here, just us keeping the place running day in and day out. Sometimes the air conditioning in the building works better than other days, but we manage. We’ve seen the neighborhood change quite a bit since we first opened our doors. The area around Globe Cinema has its own history, and being a small part of that feels okay. We keep things pretty simple. There is no corporate manual or anything like that telling us how to talk to people. We just say hello and help with whatever is needed. The space isn't huge, but it fits everything we need to keep the business going. It’s a bit of a climb or a walk depending on which entrance you use, but we are always here. Everyday life here is just about showing up and doing the work.
