Bhattacharjee Hatchery

Bhattacharjee Hatchery is located at No. 64/1 Kalinath Ghosal Road, which is very close to the Belghoria Railway Station. You can hear the trains whistling all day long from here. It is a busy spot because of the commuters always rushing back and forth to the platform. Our space is mostly taken up by the tanks and the equipment needed for the hatchery business. There is always the sound of running water and the smell of the outdoors. It gets quite damp inside because of the nature of the work, but that is just how it has to be for the stock. We stay busy from the early morning hours before the sun is even fully up. The area around the station is crowded with small shops and tea stalls, so there is never a dull moment. We have a few workers who have been with us for years. They know the routine of feeding and cleaning without even thinking about it. Sometimes people getting off the train stop by just to look or ask questions about what we are raising. The building itself is an older structure, and the entrance is right on the main path. It is a practical setup meant for work, not for showing off. We keep the gate open most of the day. It is just life here by the tracks.
