You can find Basona Furniture at 100/5 Jessore Road, over in the Motijhil area of Dumdum. We’ve been sitting on this stretch of the road for a good while now. Jessore Road is always moving, with trucks and buses passing by all day long. Our shop is easy to spot if you’re looking for it. We keep a variety of beds, tables, and chairs on the floor. It’s not a fancy air-conditioned gallery; it’s just a honest furniture shop where you can touch the wood and sit on the sofas to see if they’re comfortable. We get our stock from various makers, and sometimes we have things custom-made if someone asks. The space gets a little cramped when we have a lot of wardrobes in stock, so you might have to squeeze past a few things to see the back row. We handle the deliveries ourselves most of the time using a local van. It’s just a small team of us here. We don't have a big corporate office or anything like that. We just focus on selling furniture that lasts. Sometimes the dust from the main road settles on the items, so we spend a lot of time wiping things down every morning.
