Chandra Gear Company

Chandra Gear Company is located right on 13 Banga Sen Lane in the Bagh Bazar area. It is one of those old streets where everyone knows each other. We have been here for quite some time now, working with gears and various mechanical parts. The shop itself is a bit small and can get crowded when we have a lot of metal stock piled up near the entrance. You can usually hear the sound of machinery if you walk past our door during the day. It’s a noisy job but we are used to it by now. The air smells a bit like oil and iron, which I guess is normal for a gear shop. We spend our time taking measurements and making sure the teeth on the gears fit just right. Sometimes a customer comes in with a broken part and we have to figure out how to fix it or make a whole new one from scratch. It takes a lot of patience. We don't have a big front office or a fancy waiting room for people. Most people just walk right into the workspace to talk to us while we work. We keep our tools on the walls and the benches are always covered in metal shavings. It’s honest work. We open early in the morning and stay until the sun goes down. Bagh Bazar is a busy neighborhood so there is always something happening outside our window.
