Balaji Gold Paint House

Our shop, Balaji Gold Paint House, is located right on Sashi Bhusan Dey Street. We are pretty easy to find since we are close to the U.B.I. Bank. Most days there are paint cans stacked up near the entrance because we get deliveries often. It smells like fresh paint and thinner in here most of the time, which is something you just get used to after working here for years. We aren't a big chain store with bright lights and uniforms. It’s just a few of us who know where everything is kept on the shelves. Sometimes the floor gets a bit dusty from the pigments, but we try to sweep up when we can. People come in looking for specific colors or just some advice on what kind of brush works for their walls. We don’t try to sell people stuff they don’t need. If we don’t have a color, we say so. The building is older, so the walls have a bit of character. Being near the bank means there’s always people walking by. We’ve seen the street change a lot over the seasons. It gets quite crowded during the festivals, but that’s just how life is in this part of town. We keep our doors open and wait for the next customer to walk in. It’s a decent way to spend the day. Nothing too complicated about it. We just focus on the paint and the customers.
