Bakul Hardware

Bakul Hardware is located at 1-5/A Post Office Road, right in the Dum Dum Cantt area. It’s a spot that is usually humming with activity because of the train station nearby. Our shop is filled with the smell of metal and wood. It’s a bit dusty in here, no matter how much we sweep. We have got shelves reaching all the way to the ceiling, packed with everything you would expect. Finding things can take a minute if you don’t know where to look, but we know our way around the aisles. The counter is old and has plenty of scratches from years of moving heavy parts across it. We spend our days helping people figure out which screw or pipe they actually need. Often, they come in with a broken piece of something and ask if we have a match. It’s honest work and we like the people who stop by. Sometimes it gets a bit loud with the traffic and the trains, but you get used to the noise after a while. We don’t have air conditioning, so we rely on the big pedestal fan in the corner during the summer. It’s not a fancy showroom, just a place where you can get what you need for a repair. We have a small stool behind the counter where we take turns sitting down when the feet get tired. It has been our routine for a long time and we like it.
