Shibam Textile

We are tucked away in Majher Para in the Baguihati area. It is a busy part of town with lots of narrow lanes and people moving about constantly. The textile business keeps us pretty busy from morning till night. Our space is filled with rolls of cloth and the sound of machines running. It is not the quietest place to work, but we like the energy of the neighborhood. We deal with all sorts of fabrics, and you can usually find us measuring out lengths or checking the quality of a new batch that just came in. The floor is often covered in loose threads and scraps of material, no matter how much we sweep it during the day. We have a small team of people who have been with us for years, so we all know what needs to be done without having to say much. Customers come by to pick out what they need, and we spend a lot of time moving heavy bolts of fabric around. It is physical work and it gets hot in the summer, but we are used to it by now. Being in Baguihati means we are close to the markets, which is handy for us. We just keep our heads down and focus on getting the textiles ready for whoever needs them for their own projects.
