Our office for Aries Exim Company Private Limited is tucked away on the fourth floor of Stephen House. The room number is 59B and we are at 56E Hemanta Basu Sarani. BBD Bag is a hectic area to work in, but there is something about the old architecture here that makes it interesting. The building itself has been around for ages and you can feel that when you walk through the hallways. We focus on the import and export business, which basically means we spend a lot of time dealing with logistics and customs. It isn't always the most exciting work, but it is necessary. Our office is a bit cramped with all the binders and records we have to keep, but we know where everything is. We don't have a receptionist or anything like that. When someone comes to the door, one of us just gets up to see who it is. We drink a lot of tea to get through the afternoon slump. The view from our window is mostly other office buildings and the tops of buses, but it gives us a sense of the city’s pulse. We try to be honest in our dealings and just get the work done without making a big fuss about it. It’s a humble setup, but it’s ours and we have been here long enough to know the neighbors and the local tea stall owners.
