Aplom Creation

Our office is way up on the 9th floor of the Shantiniketan building on Camac Street in Kolkata. Being right near Vardhan Market means there is always a crowd and a lot of noise from the street below. We’ve been in this office for several years now, and the lift ride up to the 9th floor is always a bit of an adventure. Our workspace is a bit cramped because we have so many samples and materials lying around from our different projects. We do creation work, and it’s rarely a clean or organized process. There are bits of paper and fabric everywhere. The humidity in Kolkata can be quite something, so we rely on our old air conditioner to keep things manageable. We aren't a big firm with a lot of departments. It’s just a few of us sitting close together, talking through projects as they come in. Sometimes we have to work late when a project is taking longer than we thought it would. We don't really have a fancy philosophy or a mission statement. We just try to make things that look good and hope our clients like them. Most people know us because they’ve been coming to this building for years. It’s a busy, messy, and loud environment, but it’s where we feel at home and get our work done. We usually end the day with some street food from the vendors downstairs before heading home.
