Anant Vastu

You can find us in the old Stephen House building on Hemanta Basu Sarani. It’s a classic Kolkata building, very busy and full of history, but also a bit worn down. We’re up on the fifth floor in Suite 87. The elevator is one of those old iron-gate ones that sometimes gets stuck or takes forever, so a lot of people just end up taking the stairs. It’s a bit of a climb but it's okay once you get used to it. Our office isn't very big at all. We have a few wooden desks, some hand-drawn charts on the walls, and a lot of old books about Vastu shastra. It’s actually pretty quiet up here on the fifth floor compared to the constant honking and noise down on Lal Bazar street. We spend our days looking at floor plans and talking to people who are worried about their homes or offices. Sometimes we have to travel out to different parts of West Bengal to see a building site in person. The ceiling fan in the main room wobbles a bit when it's on high, but it keeps the air moving. We’ve got a small window that looks out over the dusty rooftops of the city. It’s a very simple setup. We don't have fancy uniforms or any big marketing team. Most people find us through recommendations from their cousins or friends. We drink a lot of tea from the guy downstairs while we work. It’s just our little office where we try to help folks.
