Amcon Fibreglass & Plastic Engineering Co.

Our place is at 21/1 Ballygunge Place. It’s an old part of the city, and the building reflects that. Amcon Fibreglass & Plastic Engineering Co. has its workshop here, and it’s a bit of a specialized setup. Fibreglass work is messy, so the floors are almost always covered in a bit of residue or dust from the molds. We have been doing this for a long time, so we’ve gotten used to the smell of resin that hangs in the air. The space is filled with various shapes and sizes of plastic components we are working on. There isn't much room for a fancy showroom. If you come by, you’ll likely see someone in an apron or overalls busy with a hand tool. We have a small table where we keep the drawings and the tea cups. The lighting isn't the brightest, but we have lamps where we need them. Ballygunge is a nice area, but our corner of it is strictly for engineering. We don't spend money on marketing or big signs. Most people find us because they need something specific made out of fibreglass and they heard we have the tools for it. We just take the measurements and get to work. It’s a quiet life of making things. Sometimes the rain hits the roof so hard we can't hear each other, but we just keep going until the job is done.
