Amalgamated

Down at 6 Muralidhar Sen Lane, things haven’t changed much over the years. This part of the city is always buzzing, and our little spot is right in the middle of it. The lane is quite narrow, so you can’t really bring a big car through, but people manage. We have a small team here, and most of us have been working together for a long time. It feels more like a family than a business some days. We don’t have a lot of fancy equipment or high-end decor. The walls could probably use a new coat of paint, and the ceiling fan makes a bit of a clicking sound, but it keeps us cool enough. We spend the day dealing with orders and talking to people who drop by. It’s a very hands-on kind of environment. Sometimes we sit around the big table in the back and just figure out how to solve a problem that’s come up with a shipment. There’s no big hierarchy here; everyone just pitches in where they can. Lunch is often a shared affair with whatever someone brought from home. It’s a bit chaotic when things get busy, but we usually find a way to get everything done before we close up for the evening. The neighbors often pop their heads in just to say hello or share some news. It’s a bit of an old-fashioned way to run things, but it works well for us.
