S. K. Trader

If you walk down Alimuddin Street and look below the Bari Masjid, you’ll find S. K. Trader. We are located right there, literally below the mosque, so we hear the calls for prayer every day. It’s a very busy part of the city. The street is usually full of people and small vehicles squeezed together. Our shop at number 41 is a bit old and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but it works for what we need. We trade in various goods and the space is often crowded with bags and crates. It’s hard work, especially when we have to move heavy items in and out through the narrow entrance. We don't have a website or a fancy logo. Most of our business is done face-to-face with people who walk in from the street. We’ve been here for years, and the neighbors all know us. Sometimes we sit outside on a stool when things are slow and just watch the traffic go by. The shop can get a bit dark inside since it's below the main level of the mosque building, which is why everyone just says we are below the Bari Masjid. We don't make big promises to anyone. We just sell what we have and try to be fair about it. It’s just a normal trading business in a very old and lively part of town.
