Adgifts

Adgifts is tucked away on the first floor of No.24 Pollock Street. Being on the first floor means people have to walk up the stairs, which are a bit narrow and old. Pollock Street is a busy place, so there’s always something going on outside. Up here, it’s a bit quieter than the street level. We have a lot of different gift items sitting around in boxes and on shelves. It’s not always perfectly organized, to be honest. Sometimes we have to dig through a few crates to find exactly what someone is looking for. The lighting inside isn't the brightest, but we have enough lamps to see what we're doing. I spend a lot of time at the wooden counter near the window. From there, I can see the tops of the trucks and the people walking below. We’ve been in this building for a long time. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we’re usually too busy moving stock around to worry about that. People come to us when they need something for a party or a small event. We don't have a big showroom or fancy displays. It’s just a workspace filled with things that people might find useful or nice to give to someone else. It's a bit of a squeeze when we get a large delivery, but we make it work somehow. We have been here for years now and know the area well.
