Adgifts (India)

Our office is tucked away in Room 330 on the third floor of the building at 4 Ballav Das Street. It’s an old part of the area, and the building has that specific smell of old paper and dust. We deal with all sorts of gift items, mostly stuff that businesses want to give out. Our room is usually full of boxes stacked up high, sometimes so high it's hard to see the windows. It’s a bit of a squeeze when we get a big shipment in. We spend the morning answering emails and the rest of the day packing things up to send out. It’s just how it goes here. The fan in the corner makes a clicking sound that we’ve gotten used to over the years. We aren't some massive warehouse; we’re just a small team trying to keep track of orders and making sure everything is in the right box. Sometimes the courier guys get lost looking for the street, so we have to go down and find them. It’s a lot of running around, to be honest. We’ve been at Ballav Das Street for a long time, so we know all the tea stalls nearby. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s steady. We just take it one order at a time and try not to trip over the boxes in the hallway. We also have to keep an eye on the door because the bell doesn't always work.
