Out here on Shakespeare Sarani, it is always loud with the traffic passing by Circus Avenue. Our workshop at 61A is where we spend all our time. If you walk in, you will see oil on the floor and a bunch of cars with their hoods up. It has been like this for years. We handle all sorts of engines, mostly just trying to figure out why something is making a weird noise or why it will not start in the morning. My hands are usually stained with grease by ten o'clock. We have some old tools that have been around forever and some newer ones too. It gets cramped when there are too many cars waiting, so we have to move things around a lot. The fan in the corner barely does anything in the summer, but we do not mind much. People in the neighborhood know us by now. They drop off their keys and tell us what is wrong, and we get to work. Sometimes it is a quick fix, other times we are waiting on a part for days. It is just the way it goes with motors. We drink a lot of tea while we look at engines. It is a busy street outside, but inside we just focus on the task at hand. It is not a shiny showroom, just a place where things get fixed. It gets dark in the back of the shop, but we know where every wrench is kept.
