Kolkata Transport

We run things out of 4 Sadhana Aushadhalaya Road here in Kolkata. If you know the area, you know it can get pretty congested with all the trucks and vans moving around. Kolkata Transport is basically a group of us managing drivers and routes. It’s a lot of checking schedules and making sure the vehicles are actually on the road when they should be. The office is usually a bit chaotic with maps and clipboards everywhere. We have drivers coming in and out at all hours, grabbing their paperwork and heading off to their next stop. It’s not a quiet 9-to-5 kind of place. We spend a lot of time on the phone, tracking where things are and dealing with traffic delays. Roads in Kolkata can be unpredictable, so we’re always adjusting things. We’ve been at this address for a while now. The building is a bit old, and the paint is peeling in some spots, but it’s a good base for us. We aren't trying to be the biggest company out there, we just want to get the loads delivered. It’s practical work. Sometimes things go wrong, like a flat tire or a blocked road, and we just have to figure it out as we go. We don't use any fancy tracking software, just good old-fashioned communication and knowing the city streets. It keeps us busy from the morning rush until the last truck is back.
