We’ve been here at No.1023 in Village Vada for a good while now. Our place is right near the Hanuman Temple, which makes it easy for folks to find us when they’re coming from the Post Office. It’s quiet out here in Taluka Devgad, but there’s always something to do around the office. We usually start our mornings early, just after the temple bells ring. The desk is usually covered in papers and folders that we sort through throughout the day. People from the village often drop in just to say hello or ask a quick question about their paperwork. We don’t have fancy furniture or anything like that, just some sturdy chairs and a big table where we sit and go over things. Sometimes the electricity goes out in the afternoons, so we just open the windows and keep working with the breeze coming in. It’s a simple way of living and working. We know most of the people around here by name. Dealing with the daily tasks keeps us busy enough, whether it’s filing documents or talking to someone who walked in off the street. We’ve seen the village change a bit over the years, but our spot near the temple stays pretty much the same. It’s a decent place to spend the day, and we try to get everything finished before it gets too dark outside and the street lights come on.
