Suman Mahila Udyog

Suman Mahila Udyog is located in the village of Kasaba Sangaon, which is in the Kagal Taluka. This is basically a place where the local women come together to work on various small-scale projects. We don't have a giant factory or anything like that. It’s just a humble workspace where we can sit together and produce different goods. Sometimes we are making food items and other times we might be working on small handicrafts or packing things. It depends on what the local demand is or what materials we can get our hands on at the time. We aren't professional business experts. We are just women from the village who wanted to do something productive and earn a little bit of money for our households. The atmosphere is usually quite friendly because we all know each other’s families and what’s happening in the village. We work at a steady pace and don't have any big corporate goals. Our main thing is just keeping the work going so everyone has something to do. The building we use is old and simple, but it stays cool enough in the summer for us to work comfortably. We don't have any fancy equipment, mostly just our hands and some basic tools. It’s a real community effort and we take a lot of pride in just showing up and getting the daily tasks finished together.
