Shri Mahalaxmi Shop

Shri Mahalaxmi Shop is located at 308 Zunjarwad, which is right near the Kalika Temple. If you are walking toward the temple, you really can’t miss us. The sound of the temple bells is something we hear all through the day, and it sort of marks the time for us. We have been in this spot for quite a while now. The shop itself is nothing too special to look at, just a regular place with high shelves and a counter that’s seen better days. We handle a lot of different things depending on what people in Zunjarwad are asking for that month. It gets a bit crowded inside when more than three or four people come in at once, especially during the festival times when the temple is busy. We do our own lifting and cleaning, so there is always something to do even when customers aren’t around. The floor is old stone and stays somewhat cool in the heat of the afternoon. We don’t have a big marketing plan or a corporate office. It is just a local business run by people who live right here. We know most of the families by name and know what they usually want before they even ask. It’s just a practical way to earn a living and stay involved with the community around the temple.
