Shivkrupa Camphor Co.

Our small factory is at Plot No 13/286 in the Datar Mala area. If you walk by, you’ll definitely smell the camphor. It’s a very strong, clean scent that sticks to your clothes and stays with you. We’ve been making it here for quite a while now. It’s a simple process, but you have to get the heat and the pressure just right to get those solid blocks or tablets. The machines we use are old, but they still work fine as long as we keep them oiled and maintained. We aren't a big company. It’s mostly family and a few neighbors who work here together. Datar Mala is a decent area for this kind of work. We have a small yard where the trucks load up the boxes. Sometimes when it rains, the roof leaks a bit in the corner, so we have to move the stock around. We don't have a big front office or a receptionist. If someone wants to buy something, they usually just come to the side door and yell for one of us. We spend most of our day packing the camphor into plastic bags and sealing them up. It’s repetitive, but it’s what we know how to do. We just keep the machines running and try to stay out of the sun during the hottest parts of the day.
