Shefali Travels

We are located at A 11 in Mahalaxmi Chambers, which is right by the Kolhapur Railway Station. It is also very close to the CBS Stand, so we are basically in the middle of all the transport action. Since we are so close to the station, we get a lot of people coming in straight from the trains. They usually look a bit tired and just want a ride to their hotel or home. The office at A 11 is simple. We have a desk, a couple of chairs, and our booking diaries. The railway engines whistling and the announcements from the station are things we hear all day long. It's a busy spot, and there is always someone looking for a car. We try to keep things organized, but when three trains arrive at once, it gets a bit frantic. We mostly manage trips for families or people here on business. We know all the short cuts around the station area to avoid the worst of the traffic. Sometimes the computer acts up, so we go back to writing everything by hand in the registers. It’s a very human way of doing things, I suppose. We don't have any big signs or fancy decorations. People just find us because of where we are. We just focus on getting the drivers lined up and making sure the keys are where they should be. That is our daily life here next to the tracks.
