Aarel Jewellers

Our shop is located at No. 520/1 E in Shahupuri, which is right near the Central S. T. Stand in Kolhapur. Being so close to the bus stand means we see a lot of people passing by all the time. Aarel Jewellers is a place where we’ve set up shop to handle our daily business. It’s a convenient spot for anyone coming into the city by bus. We usually start the day by opening the heavy shutters and sweeping the front step. The inside of the shop has enough room for a few customers at a time and a couple of glass counters where we keep the jewelry. We aren't trying to be the most modern place on the block; we just keep things functional and tidy. Sometimes the noise from the buses can be a bit much, but you get used to it after a week or two. We spend our time weighing gold, checking stones, and writing out receipts by hand. It’s a simple process. Most of the people who come in are locals from around Kolhapur or travelers who have a bit of time before their bus leaves. We offer them a seat and show them what’s available in the cases. It’s a regular life for us here in Shahupuri. We know the rickshaw drivers outside and the other shopkeepers nearby. It’s just a normal day of work for us, nothing more and nothing less than that.
