You will find us at House Number 46 in the village of Arale. This is in the Panhala taluka of Kolhapur. It is a very beautiful area, especially during the monsoon when everything turns green, but our office is quite basic. We run this Nidhi company from a small room in the house. We do not have any corporate branding or expensive furniture. It is mostly just wooden tables, some chairs for the visitors, and a lot of registers. People from Arale and the nearby villages come here to put aside a little bit of their earnings every month. We know most of them by name because we have lived here for a long time. It is a community-based setup where trust is more important than a fancy office. Sometimes it gets a bit noisy when there is a local wedding or a festival in the street, but that is just how it is. We handle the deposits and the small loans that people need for their shops or farms. We try to be as helpful as possible without using any complicated language. If you come by, you might find us having tea or just chatting with a neighbor. We do the work diligently but we do not pretend to be something we are not. Kolhapur is known for its hard-working people, and we are just trying to support that in our own small way at Arale.
