Pickyfresh Fruits and Vegetables is located at Khadkewada in the Kagal area of Kolhapur. We are based out of G.No. 488, which is actually the home of Vijaysinha Narayanrao Ghorpade. Being in Kolhapur, we are surrounded by fields and a lot of red soil. It’s a very rural way of doing business. We don't have a glass building or air-conditioned offices. We work where the food grows. Our days start very early, usually before the sun is fully up, because that’s when the harvest is ready. We spend a lot of time out in the dirt, checking on the crops and talking to the people who work the land. It’s a messy business. You can’t handle fruits and vegetables all day and stay clean. We are quite particular about what we send out, hence the name. If it’s not good enough for our own kitchen, we don’t send it to anyone else. There’s a lot of heavy lifting and the logistics of getting things from Kagal to the bigger markets can be a bit of a struggle sometimes. We have our own trucks and we know the local roads like the back of our hand. It’s a simple, honest way to make a living. We aren't trying to be the biggest company, just the one that knows its produce the best. It’s quiet out here compared to the city, but we are always busy.
