Nandadeep Eye Hospital

Up on Madhav Nagar Road, you’ll find Nandadeep Eye Hospital. It’s a place where we spend a lot of time looking at charts and helping people pick out frames. The road outside can get a bit congested during the morning hours, but it’s usually okay. I work at the front desk mostly, so I’m the first person people see. We have a lot of elderly folks coming in for their checkups, and they often have a lot of stories to tell. The clinic has that specific smell of medicine and clean glass. We have those machines that puff air into your eye, which nobody really likes, but it’s part of the job. I spend a lot of time organizing the files and making sure the waiting room isn't too crowded. The light in here is quite bright, which helps the doctors see what they are doing. We have a small area for the surgeries in the back, and that part is always very quiet and strict. Madhav Nagar Road is a familiar place for most of us who live nearby. We usually grab lunch from the local stall down the street. It’s a straightforward kind of place. We don't try to be anything we aren't. We just help people see a little better and manage their eye health day by day. By the end of the shift, my own eyes are usually a bit tired, but it’s worth the effort.
