Nagvekar Hospital & Nursing Home

Down in Vidhya Nagar, Kankavali, you’ll find Nagvekar Hospital & Nursing Home. It’s a quiet area, which is actually quite nice for a nursing home because the patients need the peace. The building is solid and has been part of the Janavalin landscape for a long time. We have rooms for people staying over and a small area for those just coming in for a quick check. It isn't a place with marble floors or fancy lighting. It’s a very local, practical facility where the staff knows the families in the area. We spend a lot of time moving between the beds and the small nursing station. The windows look out onto the greenery of Vidhya Nagar, which is a nice change from the dusty main roads. We don't have a huge marketing budget or anything like that; we just exist for the people of Kankavali. Some days are slow and we just tidy up the files, and other days everyone seems to show up at once. It’s a nursing home, so the pace is usually a bit more measured than a city emergency room. We keep the kettles going for tea and make sure the place stays clean and orderly. It’s just a humble hospital where we do our daily rounds and look after whoever comes through the door. It’s been that way for years and we don’t see that changing anytime soon.
