Mate Shri Tea

Mate Shri Tea is based in the village of Gorgoti. We are in the Bhudargad taluka, which is a more rural part of the region. Our office and storage are right here in the village. It is a quiet life out here. We don't have the rush of the city. We spend our days looking over the tea and making sure everything is handled properly. It is a small operation. Usually, there are only a couple of us working at any one time. We do everything ourselves, from unloading the trucks to packing the tea for customers. The work is physically demanding and we are often tired by the end of the day. During the rainy season, the village can get very muddy and quiet. We have to be careful that the tea stays dry in our storage area. We aren't interested in being a big corporation with fancy slogans. We just want to provide tea to the people who need it. We have lived in Gorgoti for a long time and we are part of the community here. People know they can come to us for their tea. We don't have a website or a big sign. We just have our name on the door and our work to do. It’s an honest way to live and we are happy with it. The air here is fresh and the tea smells good.
