Lions Eye Hospital

We are situated right near College Corner. Being so close to the college means we see a lot of students coming in, usually because they’ve been staring at books or screens too long. But we get older folks too. It’s a mix. The building is an older one, and the stairs can be a bit creaky. We’ve thought about fixing them, but there’s always something more important to do. The hospital isn't very large. We have a few rooms for testing and one for the doctors to sit in. It gets pretty crowded during the middle of the day. We don’t have a fancy reception desk, just a counter where you sign in. Sometimes we run out of pens because people walk off with them. It’s just how it goes. We don’t spend money on fancy decorations. Most of the furniture has been here since we opened. It’s comfortable enough, though. We just focus on the eyes. If someone needs help, we do what we can. Sometimes we have to tell people to come back the next day if we're too full. It’s a practical place. We don’t try to be anything we’re not. Just a hospital near the college doing its job every day. It’s a bit noisy with the students outside, but we don’t mind the energy. We just keep the files organized and the patients moving through the rooms as best we can.
