Our office sits right in Mahalaxmi Chambers, which is a busy building near the ST Stand here in Kolhapur. If you know the area, you know how crowded it gets with all the buses coming and going. It’s handy for people traveling in from the nearby villages. We’ve been at 519 /E C78 for a while. The stairs can be a bit of a climb if the lift is acting up, which happens sometimes. Inside, it’s mostly just us working on the ledgers and talking to members. We don't have any flashy signs or big TV screens. It’s just a place where people from Kolhapur come to sort out their small savings. We see a lot of regulars who stop by after doing their shopping at the market. Sometimes it’s noisy outside because of the traffic, but we are used to it by now. The tea stall downstairs makes decent chai, so we usually have a cup while we work. We handle the multipurpose Nidhi work as best as we can. It’s not a complicated setup. We just keep track of the deposits and help out when someone needs to withdraw their money. Being near the bus stand means there's always someone new walking in. We tell them how the Nidhi works and what they need to do to join. It's a steady life. We like being part of the local scene here in the city.
