You can find Govindas Spices & Food at Plot No.9 in Rajiv Gandhi Nagar. We are located in the Kalamba area, right near the Kalamba Estate. It is a bit of a trek from the main city center, but it’s a good spot for us. We have enough room here to set up our grinding machines and storage. The morning usually starts with the smell of roasting spices hitting you as soon as you walk in. It’s a strong scent, especially the coriander and the cumin. We spend a lot of our time cleaning the raw spices before they go into the machines. It’s a lot of sitting and sorting through things by hand. The machines we use are old but they still work well for us. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. It is just a few of us handling the whole process from start to finish. We load the bags ourselves and keep a tally in a simple notebook. Sometimes the dust from the spices gets everywhere and we have to wear masks so we don't cough too much. Rajiv Gandhi Nagar is a decent place to work, even if it gets a bit quiet in the evenings. We just finish up the day’s work, lock up the plot, and head home. It’s a steady routine that we’ve gotten used to over the years.
