Ghodake Foods

We are over in Ward B, specifically at Gala No -1 on New Mahadwar Road. It’s in the Mangalwar Peth area, right near Dr Nandkumar Joshi Hospital. Having a hospital nearby means there is always someone walking past, and the area stays busy until late at night. At Ghodake Foods, we are mostly focused on the kitchen side of things. There is always a pot boiling or something being prepped on the counters. It’s a small space, but we make it work. The walls have some stains from years of cooking, and the floor is made of hard stone that’s seen a lot of boots. We don't have a big staff, just family and a few locals who have been with us for years. We wake up while it’s still dark to get the first batch of things ready. The smell of frying spices fills the gala and spills out onto the street. We don't have a website or a social media manager. If someone wants to know about us, they usually just stop by and ask while we are working. We use traditional recipes that haven't changed much since my grandmother's time. It’s not about being fancy; it’s about the food tasting like it should. We get our ingredients from the market nearby every couple of days. It’s a humble way to make a living, but it keeps us fed and connected to the peth. It’s just how things are.
