Our business, Garden Spcies And Herbs, is over at Plot No. 56 in E- Warld, Yashoda Park. That’s situated within the Karvir taluk. It’s a bit of a distance from the center of the city, but it’s a good location for the kind of work we do. We have enough space here to store and dry out various spices and herbs that come our way. When you first walk through the door, the thing you notice most is the very heavy scent of pepper and other spices. It’s so strong that the smell stays on your clothes even after you go home. We spend many hours every day cleaning the seeds and making sure there isn't any grit or stones mixed into the bags. It is tedious and slow work, but it’s necessary. The floors are usually covered in a thin layer of dust from the herbs. We use some old ceiling fans to keep the air moving, but it can still get pretty stuffy and hot in the afternoons. Yashoda Park is still being developed, so there is often construction noise from new buildings going up nearby. We have a small team of local people from the nearby villages who come in to help us with the sorting and packing. We don't have a fancy office area, just a simple wooden table where we sit and go over our daily notes. The bags are stacked high against the walls.
