Doctor Pardeshi

If you go down Kolhapur Road, you will find my practice, which people simply know as Doctor Pardeshi. The landmark I tell everyone is the Jivhasvar Mandir, because it is right there and everyone knows it. Being a doctor in this part of Kolhapur means I see a lot of the same people day after day. It’s a very local feel here. The clinic is simple. I have a desk, a few chairs for patients, and the basic equipment I need for my work. It’s not a fancy medical center with a big reception desk and uniform-clad guards. It’s just me and a couple of helpers. The 416115 area is where I’ve set myself up, and I like being part of this community. Sometimes people stop me when I’m out getting lunch to ask about a small ache or a prescription. That’s just how it goes when you work near a temple where everyone gathers. The days can be long, starting early in the morning and sometimes going late if there are a lot of people waiting. I don't really do any promotional stuff. Word spreads through the neighborhood, and that seems to be enough. I just try to be there when people need a checkup. It is a plain, honest way to earn a living and help out the folks living on Kolhapur Road. The building is old but it works for what we need to do every day.
