Bhairavnath Clinic

Down in Kagal, near the Bhairavnath Mandir, is where you will find our clinic. It’s at house number 35. Being so close to the temple means we hear the bells and the prayers throughout the day. It’s a nice atmosphere for a clinic in Kolhapur. Most of our patients are local folks from the village or the nearby farms. They come in with all sorts of small injuries or fever. The building is an old one, with thick walls that keep it somewhat cool even when it’s hot outside. We have a small bench outside under the shade for when the waiting room gets full. Inside, it’s quite simple. We have a table, a couple of chairs, and our medical kit. We don't use computers much, mostly just keeping a ledger of who came in and what they needed. It’s a slow pace of life here in 416216. We know most of the families around here, so work feels more like helping out neighbors. Sometimes someone will bring us some fruit from their garden as a thank you. We open up in the morning after the temple prayers start and stay until the sun goes down. It’s a practical little place that serves the people here. There’s no pretense about it, just a basic room where we do our best for the locals. We like being part of the community and wouldn't want to be anywhere else.
