We have our shop, Rajlakshmi Saree Pvt. Ltd., at 3225 A Babujamal Road. It is very close to the Mahalaxmi Temple, so we get a lot of people passing by after they visit the temple. We sell sarees for all sorts of occasions, from simple daily wear to things people wear for weddings. The shop is filled with bright colors and different fabrics like silk and cotton. We have big counters where we spread out the sarees so people can see the patterns properly. It takes a long time to fold them all back up after a customer leaves. We spend most of our afternoons doing that. The lighting in the shop is meant to show the real colors of the fabric. We’ve been here for a long time and many of our customers are grandmothers who now bring their granddaughters to shop with us. It’s a nice feeling to see the families come back. We don't have a big corporate office or anything. It's just the shop and a small storage room in the back. Sometimes it gets really crowded during the festival season and we have to bring in extra stools for people to sit. We don't use any high-pressure sales tactics. We just let people look and help them find what they like. It’s a traditional way of doing things and it works well for us on Babujamal Road.
