Ashtha Clinic

Our small clinic is over in Rajopadhayay Nagar in Kolhapur. The pincode is 416003 if you are trying to find it. It’s a mostly residential neighborhood, so it stays fairly calm compared to the main market areas. We started this place because we wanted to be close to where people actually live. The clinic is just a few rooms in a plain building. We have a small fan that wobbles a bit while it runs, but it keeps the air moving. Most mornings we spend a little time cleaning the glass on the medicine cabinets. We don't have any big fancy reception desk, just a small table where we sit and write. People from the nearby houses often just walk over when they have a headache or a cough. It’s a very informal environment. We talk about the weather or the local news while we do the checkups. It’s not like those cold, sterile places in the big cities. We keep things simple and honest here. Sometimes the kids from the street peek in the door, and we have to tell them to go play. By the end of the day, we are usually quite tired, but it’s a good kind of tired. We lock up the doors, turn off the lights, and walk home ourselves. It’s just a normal part of life in Rajopadhayay Nagar. We’ve been here for a while and don't plan on going anywhere.
