Down here in Malur, specifically on Araleri Road, things move at a different pace than the big city. We are based out of S.L.V. Layout, which is a fairly quiet spot most of the time. Working at Shyam Ahuja means we deal with a lot of fabrics and items that need careful handling. The warehouse gets dusty quite fast, so someone is always sweeping. We’ve got a small team here, mostly local guys who know the area well. Sometimes the rain in Karnataka makes the roads a bit messy, and getting shipments in can be a headache, but we’ve learned to plan around it. We don't really do much big talk or fancy meetings. Usually, we just sit around the small table in the back to figure out the day’s tasks. My desk is always covered in papers and sample clippings that I need to organize but never quite get around to. People often get lost finding this specific layout, so we spend a fair bit of time on the phone giving directions. It’s a steady kind of life. We focus on getting the orders packed right and sent out to whoever is waiting for them. It’s not glamorous, but it keeps us busy from morning till the sun goes down.
