We are located out on Plot No 29/A in Phase 1 of the Kiadb Industrial Area. It is a bit of a drive out to Malur in the Kolar district, but once you get here, it is all business. We work on tooling, which mostly means we spend our time staring at blueprints and making sure the metal gets cut exactly the way it should be. The machines are pretty high-tech compared to some of the older shops nearby, but they still need a person to tell them what to do. We have a small crew and most of us live nearby or take the bus in from the city. The air out here in Malur is a bit different than the main industrial hubs, but the work is the same. We deal with a lot of steel and aluminum blocks that eventually turn into molds or parts for other factories. It is quiet work mostly, focused on the measurements. If you walk into our shop, you will hear the hum of the CNC machines and the smell of cooling fluid. We do not have a big reception area or anyone to answer the phones half the time because we are all on the floor. We just try to get the tools finished and checked before the weekend hits. Sometimes we have to stay late if a machine breaks down, but that is just part of life in an industrial area. It is a steady job and we take it one day at a time without much fuss.
