Anandam Industries

Down in South Kumrakhali, specifically the Karbala area of Narendrapur, you’ll find Anandam Industries. We have been working out of this location for quite a while now. It’s an industrial sort of neighborhood, so there’s always the sound of machinery or trucks nearby. Our building is a sturdy one, built to handle the kind of work we do every day. It’s not a pretty place, but it’s where we get things made. Inside, the floors are concrete and there’s usually a bit of dust in the air. We have a small crew of workers who know the machines inside and out. Most of them live in Narendrapur and walk or bike to work. We don’t spend money on fancy offices or leather sofas for clients. Most people who come to see us are here to talk about production or deliveries, so they don’t mind the plain setting. We have a small room where we keep the records and a desk where we take calls. Sometimes the power goes out in the afternoon, so we just take a break until it comes back. It’s part of the routine. We don't have a big corporate strategy or anything like that. It’s a practical life. We focus on the task at hand and try to stay on schedule as much as the local conditions allow. Sometimes the rainy season slows down the deliveries because the roads get flooded, but we just work around it. There’s no point in complaining about the weather. We just keep the machines oiled.
