Fashion World

You can find Fashion World at 778 Sonarpur Station Road, inside Basuki Bhavan. Being so close to the station means there's always a rush of people outside. I hear the trains passing by all day long, it’s a sound I don't even notice anymore. The shop is on a busy stretch, so we get a lot of people just dropping in while they’re waiting for a ride or walking home. Basuki Bhavan is an old building, but it's sturdy and keeps the heat out pretty well. I keep the racks full of different styles. I don't really follow what the big city shops are doing, I just stock what my customers seem to like. It’s a lot of folding and hanging things back up. I have a small stool behind the counter where I sit when the shop is empty. I try to keep the windows clean so people can see what we have from the street. The floor gets a bit muddy when it rains, so I’m always mopping. It's just me running the place most of the time. I don't have any big slogans or fancy promises. If you like something, you buy it. If not, that's fine too. Fashion World is just a small business on a busy road, trying to get by like everyone else in Sonarpur. We open up early and stay until the last commute rush is over.
