Hotel Japfu

Hotel Japfu is situated at P.R. Hill, right here in Kohima. Our mailing address is Post Box No. 140. It is a bit of a climb to get up here, but the air is different than in the lower parts of town. We’ve been here for a long time. The building has seen many seasons. We don't have a lot of modern glass and steel. It’s more of a solid, traditional structure. We have rooms for travelers who come to see the hills or have work in the government offices nearby. The 797001 area is pretty central but it feels a bit removed from the main market noise. Every day is a bit different. Sometimes we are full with a group, and other times it's just a few quiet guests. We don't do much in terms of marketing. We just keep the rooms clean and the water running. The kitchen makes simple food for the guests. We spend our time checking the inventory and making sure the staff is doing their jobs. It’s a steady rhythm. We are not trying to be the most famous hotel in the world. We just want to be a reliable place on P.R. Hill where you can get some rest. Most of our workers live nearby and have been here for years. It’s a quiet life up here, and we like it that way.
