Ch??pru

Ch??pru is located right on NH 29 in the Kiruphema area. Being on the highway means we see a lot of travelers passing through, some in a hurry and some looking for a place to take a break. The weather up here in Kiruphema can be quite unpredictable, with fog rolling in over the road sometimes. We keep our doors open and wait for whoever comes by. It is not a very big place, just enough to serve the people who stop their vehicles outside. We spend our time preparing things and keeping the area tidy. The view of the hills from NH 29 is something we never get tired of, even on the days when the rain doesn't seem to stop. We aren't a big chain or a fancy roadside attraction. We are just a local spot where you can pause for a bit. Sometimes the trucks rumble past so loud the windows shake, but that is just part of being on the main road. We know the regular drivers who pass by every week and we always have a bit of time to chat if they aren't in a rush. Our life revolves around the traffic on the highway and the seasons changing in the mountains. We don't need much more than that. It is a quiet existence punctuated by the sound of engines and the wind blowing through the pass.
