Alder College

Alder College is up here in Kohima, Nagaland. We’ve been part of this community for a while now. Living and working in Kohima means dealing with the hills and the weather, which can be quite a challenge sometimes. The college is a pretty simple place. We have classrooms, a small library, and a lot of students who come in from the surrounding areas. It’s not like those big city schools you see on TV. We keep things humble. Most of our staff have been here for years, and we know many of the families in town. Some days are slow, especially when it rains hard, and other days are packed with activity. We don't have a big fancy office. It’s mostly just desks, chairs, and books. People come here to get their studies done and move on to the next thing in their lives. We just provide the space for that to happen. The atmosphere is generally quiet, though it picks up during lunch breaks. We don't use any slick language to talk about ourselves because there’s no need. We’re just a local college doing what we can in Nagaland. That’s the long and short of it. We have been here through many seasons and we just keep on going day by day.
