R.K. Mahto Hospital & Research Center

Our place is right there on the ward number 20 Nagwan Herudam Bypass road. If you are driving along the bypass, you can't miss the building. It’s not a huge skyscraper or anything, just a solid hospital where we do our daily work. We get a lot of people from Nagwan and the smaller villages nearby because we are easy to reach from the main road. The research part sounds fancy but mostly we are just looking into common local health issues while we treat the patients who walk through the doors. We have a staff of nurses and some helpers who have been with us for a long time. The mornings are usually the busiest when the sun is just coming up and people want to get their checkups done before the heat starts. We have basic rooms and some beds for staying over if it’s necessary. The parking area is just some dirt and gravel out front, but it fits enough cars and bikes. We don’t have a big canteen, just a small spot to get tea nearby. It’s a simple setup. We try to keep the floors clean even with all the dust from the bypass road blowing in. It’s just a regular hospital doing regular things for the folks who live around here. We don't have those fancy automated systems, we just use paper files and talk to people directly. It works for us and the community.
