Being out here in Thandigudi, the air is different. Vgrow Farm is mostly about the daily grind of working with the soil. We don't have a big office or anything like that. It’s just land and plants. My family has been involved with agriculture for a long time. We grow what the season allows. Some years are better than others depending on the rain. It’s quiet out here, which is nice. We spend most of our time checking the crops and making sure the irrigation is working right. There’s always a fence to fix or a tool that needs sharpening. We don't use a lot of fancy machinery, mostly just hands-on work. It gets tiring but it's honest. People come by to see how things are growing. We aren't a tourist spot, just a working farm. You’ll probably see me in my old boots most days. The coffee plants take up a lot of our time lately. The soil here is good for it. We try to keep the weeds down but it’s a constant battle. Sometimes we sit on the porch after the sun goes down and just talk about the next harvest. It’s a simple life. We don’t have a marketing team or a website that looks like a magazine. Just the farm and the work we do every day. It’s enough for us. We just keep our heads down and focus on the dirt and the rain.
Vgrow Farm is engaged in cultivation of White Button mushrooms. The mushrooms are grown for human consumption and being used to fill the vast protein gap.
